The First “No Boundaries” International Art Exhibition Overview

The First “No-Boundaries” International Art Exhibition @ the UN Headquarters

On August 14th, 2016, the first “No-Boundaries” International Art Exhibition was successfully held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, showcasing over 150 artworks selected from more than 2,000 entries from around the globe. Outstanding participants were awarded the “Cultural Art Ambassador” title. Artists and UN officials held educational seminars and open dialogues. The first “No-Boundaries” International Art Exhibition was very well received. More than three hundred representatives from the United Nations as well as New York’s political, academic, artistic and other related nonprofit organizations attended and watched the exhibition. Steve Orlins, President of the National Committee on US-China Relations, sent a video congratulating “No-Boundaries” International Art Exhibition’s successful launch. Official media outlets from Global Times, People’s Daily Overseas Edition and Consulate General of China in New York all covered the event with followup reports. “No-Boundaries” was also recognized by New York State Senator Daniel Squadron, New York City Council member Peter Koo and New York State House representatives, who encouraged “No-Boundaries” to hold more educational and internationally influential events on cultural and artistic exchange.

“No-Boundaries” derives from the concept that art has no boundaries, aiming to create a broader international platform not restricted by nationality, form or theme, to develop a global awareness amongst the youth that is focused on art. The mission of “No-Boundaries” is to promote world cultural exchange and communication through art, and encourage more educational art events on a global scale. Our mission is:

2016 The First “No-Boundaries” International Art Exhibition Review

  • 09/2015: The First “No-Boundaries” International Art Exhibition officially launched in New York City, showcasing outstanding artworks from young artists.
  • 03/2016: “No-Boundaries” was officially operated in China and broadcasted online in countries including the United States, France, Italy, and Switzerland.
  • 04/2016: “No-Boundaries” Committee held Arts and Identification Proof lectures series at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Tsingtua University, encouraging art students to stick to their choices.
  • 06/2016: 1,015 entries were collected in China for judges to evaluate.
  • 07/2016: “No-Boundaries” Pre-Exhibition was held at the Penn Wharton China Center in Beijing.
  • 08/2016: “No-Boundaries International Art Exhibition” held its grand opening at the UN Headquarters.
  • An additional 1,210 entries were selected from a pool of international applicants
  • Online audience reached 31,000; more than 30 famous media outlets reported the event, including CETV & Hong Kong Satellite Television.
  • “No-Boundaries” was not only supported by Ivy League schools, like Columbia University, but also the event was facilitated using innovative social media and traditional media converge.

Stephen A. Orlins  

Acting as the President of the National Committee on US-China Relations since 2005, Steve Orlins has met with many leaders from other countries. He also acts as the liaison for President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang on their visits to the United States. Mr. Orlins graduated from Harvard University before working in the Office of the Legal Advisor of the United States Department of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs.
